Dear Readers,
I know I am *extremely, totally, completely, and majorly* later on my "Easter" post. I would just like to share a Bible verse to begin with.
"On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors were being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, 'Peace be with you.' When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, 'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.' And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.'"
{John 20:19-23}
How wonderful is that? These disciples never understood until this very moment (or maybe even later on) many of the things which Jesus had told them before. "The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." {John 12:35-36} There are many other verses, as well, of Jesus foretelling his death and resurrection, but the disciples did not understand what he could possibly mean. Why would such a wonderful teacher as you, Jesus, suffer? They didn't understand God's great and wondrous plan, His majestic will. Jesus was to die on the cross for all of our sins. He was to bear all of our iniquities. What greater love is there than this? And to know he even died on the cross for the sins of those who delivered Him over to death, laughed in His face as they tore the delicate, human flesh from His back with weapons of torture, and mocked Him with a crown of thorns, bowing down to Him saying "hail to the King of the Jews!" What amazing love! No human could do such a thing, for Jesus was man in the flesh but God in spirit. I am thankful each and every day for the great wonders that Jesus performed. The fact that my body can be filled with the joy and peace that surpasses all understanding can guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I know that my sins are forgiven because He tells me so.
